    Which posts are new?

When I go to open a thread, all of the posts in the thread are immediately tagged as "blue" (i.e. read) and they don't stay yellow (unread) to let me know I've not read them yet. If I didn't know that I was not on my computer from 6 to 9 pm, I'd never know which posts were new. The thread showed as a "bold" topic so I knew there were new posts, but once I clicked on it - poof! - no idea which ones were new.

Other boards with this same softwear leave them "yellow" until the posts are read, so I know it can be done.

    Can this be changed?

    Thanks,
    Patrick

    Re: Which posts are new?

Also when you click the last post arrow you only get the last post displayed. Like Pat says on other boards you have all the previous post's opened above also. Right now I always have to click the first post and scroll down. The more threads below this thread is also something I don't face on other boards.
just ad to your list not complaining and I can deal with it if this is it.

Patrick, just like on VHs, when I'm done reading the new posts that I want to read, (note that I said that I want to read, as I ship some that don't interest me), I go to QUICK LINKS and scroll down to and click on MARK FORUMS READ.

The next time I want to read the db, I just click on NEW POSTS and it will take me to ANY new posts when I click on the boxed arrow next to the title. I don't use the boxed arrow next to the last person noted that posted.

Yes, I know there are tricks to get around it, but on VH, CF, etc the new posts will individually appear yellow until they're read. That really makes it easy.

I don't know why it doesn't do this anymore. It did show this behaviour when we just opened the board last weekend. I'll ask John if this might be changed unintentially...

            greetings,
            Rob.

              Any updated info, Rob?
They still don't stay yellow to identify them as unread.

Nope, we have just setup a new test environment and inserted the backup of this production environment but there it works so we are still puzzled why it doesn't in this environment. We will continue searching but I don't know when we will find the solution yet...

                greetings,

Thanks Rob. That was one of my earlier comments about the new format and negotiating through it. Our old board had that feature which was comforting knowing the post was read. It would be great if we could accomplish the same feature here.
                  Regards, Kent

                    All,

After some extensive searching John and I we're able to locate the problem preventing the little icon to turn orange for new postings. It is repaired now!!!

                    greetings,
                    Rob.
