How do you edit your post here?

I've seen other members do it, as there is a message down at the bottom. I do not see an "edit" icon down a the bottom right on my screen, although there is a "quote" icon. Thanks, PT

P.S. NOW after I hit the submit button, I get the "edit" button and have added this. I'm thinking that this edit feature may only last a certain amount of time, then goes away. Strange....

Patrick, for about a minute after you initially post, you can edit your original post with no edit message.

After that on the same day, you can edit the post, but there will be a message saying you edited the post and the time you did it. But, bright and early the next day, the goofy things said yesterday will be "set in stone" because the "edit" icon will be gone...!Vamos!.

I'm sure John and Co. did that to avoid "revisionist history". (Remember when some sharpies were posting unsavory comments using other people's names?...How the TDB has changed. )
