    Recycle Old Thumbnail

    Hello,
I've found that on occasion I want to post a picture in a new thread that I've already posted previously. Is there a way for me to have the OLD thumbnail appear as part of a NEW post? At this point I'm getting an alert telling me that I've already uploaded the picture but I don't know what to do.
Thanks very much for your hard work on the NEW Board.
    Regards,
    Alan

    Alan,

Yes you can recycle photos. I went to a post and right clicked on the photo that I wanted to post again. The photo was from a message posted recently from here at the Convention. When I right clicked on the message a menu pops up. I selected Properties and copied the URL to the picture: https://www.forums.ncrs.org/attachme...1&d=1216677350

I then started this message and selected the Picture Iconin the message posting form, and entered the above URL in the box that pops up.

Now the picture that was already on the server is displayed again in this message. It doesn't need to be uploaded again this way.

Note: This also works for a full blown picture (instead of a picture thumbnail).

E.g.: To do so you search for and view the full blown picture which you want to re-use (for this example I selected an already posted picture form the test forum) and right click it. Then copy its URL from the properties dialog (https://www.forums.ncrs.org/attachme...5&d=1215985234).

Then in the new posting select the Picture Icon (like John stated) and insert the URL to post the full blown picture:

        John & Rob,
Thanks so much for the tech lesson.
On the same subject... is it better for the 'health' of the Board to post a thumbnail or the photo itself? What I'm wondering is does the photo take a lot more room than the thumbnail and is that something we should be concerned about or is that something only you folks think about?
        Regards,
        Alan

PS: I DID IT!!!! Thank You!!!!
There are more things I don't know about every day!

          Hi Alan,

Well done, you are becomming an expert before you realize it...

If you add a picture in using the Picture Button it doesn't consume any more space if it is small or big (the picture is only referenced not included in the posting).

          greetings,
          Rob.
