I am not a guest but I am stumped

For some odd reason about every few weeks when trying to sign on I get a message that advises me I am a guest and my 31 day temporary access is about to expire. 'Sorry I can't remember the exact wording. This normally happens for a couple of days so I sign in with my name and password and all is usually OK for a week or two then it repeats.

Am I doing something wrong? I usually Gooogle NCRS, enter the site, select the discussion board and go.

Thanks for all the great work on the TDB! It is a fantastic tool!

Steve, when you come in through Google rather than saving the link www.forums.ncrs.org/ as a Bookmark or to your Favorites you will get the "guest message". Once you logon that message goes away. If you "lurk" and don't logon to the TDB you will get the "guest message" until you logon. Gary....

Also Steve you may be losing your cookie. When you log in under your name, you set a cookie in your computer that will allow the TDB to recognize you when you return. If you clear your cookies for any reason, you will have to manually log in once to set a cookie

This happens when your cookie is deleted. Are you performing such an action?

Re: I am not a guest but I am stumped

The problem that Steve stated in his original posting occurs for me several times a day.

I log on the the TDB by using www.ncrs.org then hitting the button for Tech Discussion. The NCRS web site address is (I suppose) remembered by Internet Explorer or some such on my PC. I do not delete cookies all that often, certainly not several times a day between sessions where I log on to the TDB.

Should I be saving www.forums.ncrs.org as the place to go directly to the TDB and that will prevent the "guest" problem from occurring ? I have not had this problem in the past and I have not changed anything to my (limited) knowledge.

Thanks to John, Gary and Rob for all the work that has been done on the new TDB.
                  Best regards,

Charlie, you use AOL and the AOL browser is problematic. Please read the AOL FAQ which has some navigation tips in it. Permanent resolution is to use Firefox or Internet Explorer browser. Best to save the link to the TDB and access directly www.forums.ncrs.org Appreciate your comments. Thanks, Gary....
