    How to do?

Tom, always best to check the FAQ's. John put alot of effort into them. Here's link to FAQ on how to re-post a photo previously posted in another thread. Gary....

Re: Recall posted image and post in new thread

      Ok...it didn't take!

here's link to what happending when I did that:

      https://www.forums.ncrs.org/newreply...treply&t=69113

      A few problems/suggestions:

      1. I don't know how others absorb new information but when its a sequence of steps, list as such rather than paragraph format.

      2. When right click "Copy Image Location" is not a choice on my pop-up menu. "Copy Shortcut" is.

      3. Below I find what I copied from the FAQ and formated by numbering

      Go to User Profile, then
      • Select Attachments from the Miscellaneous menu on the lower left hand side.
      • Find the picture that you want to use in the original post.
      • Right click on it.
      • Select Copy Image Location.
      • Go to the new message and then
      • Click on the Picture Icon .
      • In the box that pops up click Ctrl-v or use mouse right button to paste the location into the post like this.
It is best to use the Preview Post button to insure that the picture is what you expect it to be. If all is good then go to the Submit button.

        Tom,

Thanks for your input. I found that when I wrote this FAQ I only tested it in Firefox my preferred browser. There is a difference using Internet Explorer which is the most common browser.

I appreciate your reformatting of the FAQ in bullet format and have taken the liberty of changing that particular article to your style. I don't have the time right now to go through all of the FAQ's to reformat them in this better style. If you do have time or if anyone else does and would like to post the revisions or email them to me I will make the changes as time permits.

When we first opened this board over a year ago now I was fast and furiously trying to keep up with answering common questions in the FAQ. Probably need to go through all of them after a year and renew revise them as needed.

Thanks again for helping to make the Board more user friendly.

Re: Recall posted image and post in new thread

            John & Gary:

Here's what it took in IE to make this work...rather convoluted. Has this not been asked before? I did this once and than tested it by copying here...all I wanted was the lurk5 popcorn atar. Also the search sentence flows better with "in a new message" preceding the "that I have posted before?"

How do I post a photo in a new message that I have posted before?
            Go to User Profile, then
            • Select Attachments from the Miscellaneous menu on the lower left hand side.
            • Find the picture that you want to use in the original post.
            • Right click on it.
            • Select Open.
            • Once new window opens…right click and in new window
            • Select Copy (Internet Explorer) or Copy Image Location (Firefox).
            • Go to the new message and then
            • Click on the Picture Icon.
            • In the box that pops up click Ctrl-v or use mouse right button to paste the location into the post like this.

It is best to use the Preview Post button to insure that the picture is what you expect it to be. If all is good then go to the Submit button.

My Firefox copy is still on the shelf...way too techie for me.

I'll note, use the FAQs more frequently and post suggestions.

It's been great and really a tremendous tool for teaching with the use of graphics which is indeed easy...well, until one wishes to repost an image

                Tom,

Thanks for taking the time to follow up. I made the change to the Title of the FAQ. It does read easier.

Your second suggestion I did not incorporate.
                • Select Open.
When you right click on the picture in any post all you need to do is to copy it from there to be able to paste it into a new post. Opening it in a new window seems like an extra step that is not needed.

                Am I missing something?

In IE, Copy is not an option on the popup menu for this particular application...I only get copy shortcut.

                    Tom,

I have I.E. 8.0 and it does have the Copy item on the menu and the Copy Shortcut as well.

I will look at how I can word that depending on if you have the Copy item or not.
