    member signing on

Can someone explaine to me why sometimes I sign on with "remember me" and I am on for 2 or 3 days without resigning in. Then on a day like to day, I sigh in with the samething and I have to resign in again every 2 or 3 hours? This is the 4th time today that I have signed in with "remember me" Thank you Dale

    Hi Dale,

I’ll give it a stab until the experts chime in. I’ll assume you have a Microsoft operating system and guess that you have a corrupt cookie (the one that this particular site references). Clear your cookies (and your cache while you’re at it), then shut down and restart – all should be back to normal. I have XP Professional myself, and I also find that if I don’t shut down every few days (I have a habit of putting it into sleep mode when I’m not online), things get a tad unstable and inefficient. I hope this helps. If not, give us some more symptoms (any other problems with other sites or software?) and we can take it from there.

    Regards,

    Louis

      Re: member signing on

Here's how I do it and never have to resign in.

I go through my email program and go back to the last email where someone posted to a thread I was subscribed to. Then click on the link to that thread, go to the bottom of the page and click on the Go to the Technical Discussion Board. This will bring you to the list of threads with the latest post on top.

        Hi Dale,

Indeed this must be a cookie problem. Do you have any Spyware/Virus software installed (which is good on itself!!!). It might be configured in a way that it removes cookies periodically.

First try the delete cookie trick and if this doesn't help check your protection software for cookie removal options. Let me know if you keep on having problems (you might want to open a Helpdesk ticket via the link below to follow the progress).

        regards,
        Rob.

Rob, I have Eset NOD32 spyware, every nite I run C Cleaner, clean the C drive file , run De Fragment, and go to Internet Exployer under Files and clean all files. Then I run Eset Nod 32 which takes about 25 minutes. What am I missing? Dale

I'm unsure if the Eset NOD 32 does to your cookies but if it cleans them then it will for sure force you to logon again (without remembering your credentials). I don't believe it does this though but you might want to check the configurable options in this tool.

              greetings,
              Rob.
