    saving a thead

hope I'm asking in the right area.
I'm new to this stuff but is there a way to save the threads that apply to my intrest in a folder or area after I read them? I like to go back and see what has been added over time without scanning through all the threads or using a search. Also can I sort by all 63-67 type questions?
this forum is great for research and info.

Bill, I'm sure somebody has a better way - But I just copy and paste in a seperate folder that I have labeld NCRS file. Comes in handy for part numbers and some of the restoration tricks of those that have been there and already done that.

Just save the URL (in the little window near the top that starts http://) in your favourites/bookmarks.

You can also send the thread to yourself in an email. I do that a lot. It's under thread tools. I don't know of a way to sort by year, but you can search the boards.

          Bill,

You can copy and paste the information to a file and then save it in your My Documents folder in a sub folder named NCRS Resources or something like that.

The easiest way to copy and paste is to highlight everything in the post that you want to save. Press Ctrl-c to copy it. (That is Press the CTRL or Ctrl key and hold it and then press the c key.) Open Word or Wordpad or your other favorite word processing program. Open a blank document and click in the document then press Ctrl-v (That is Press the CTRL or Ctrl key and hold it and then press the v key.) This works across all Windows Programs.

I find it helpful to create a document for each subject. Brakes, Engine, Interior, Chassis, etc. then open the appropriate document and add the newest post to the bottom of the document. Then when you need some help on your brakes you can open the document and you have your reference guide that you built yourself.

Second subject. Yes you can sort by year. Click on the Link to the left of the posts for 63/64 or whatever year you are interested in. Viola all of the posts with that prefix will now be at the top of the list. Click a blank prefix like the sticky at the top and the posts will resort in the normal order.

Good luck and thanks for asking.
