If you are talking A.I.R. pump pully, I can say that we have four (4) 1972 Corvettes over here today. There are two 454, A/C cars that both have what looks like phosphate. There are two LT-1 cars. The first car has A/C and it looks like the pulley is painted semi-gloss black. The second LT-1, I would have to say it is a guess, but right now it is painted gloss black. He has only had that car for about five years. The other three have been sleeping the the same garage for over twenty years each.
The LT-1 A/C has been in the same garage since 1973.
Hope it helps a bit. There are a few more 72's in the next neighborhood over. I can go look at those if you want, but I think all three of them have had a rough life. My 454 A/C car just turned 40K miles and all the original parts came with my car in a bin. So, I feel pretty good about it being correct.
Good luck
