Is there a way to make the new vBulletin appear more like the old vBulletin?

Is there a forum "filter" or a way to choose to make the forum appear like it used to?

It was plain and simple before, now it's more like Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, for lack of a better way to say it. Everything is much "busier". Is it possible to view the forum in the old "format"?

Sorry, but the new software version doesn't have that option available.

Gary, is there a way to change the color/backgrounds to give more contrast? The old BB had this feature. I liked the black "mode" for easier reading.

Chuck,

Yes there is a way to make the forum look about any way you like. Click on your name at the top of the page.

This will open your public profile. Look over to the right side of the page past the tabs for Visitor Messages / About Me / Friends and find the link to Customize My Profile.

From there you can change the color of about anything you wish.

If you click on the color swatch beside each choice you can find all of the color choices you will ever want.

I suggest that you open another window to the forum in your browser. Make your changes in one window and review what they look like in the other. When you make changes click on the save button at the top of the page. Then go to the other tab where you can see what you have done and press CTRL-F5 to reload your test page to see what really changed.

If you get it all messed up you can click on Revert to go back to the default and try again.

In the future I may load some other Themes that you can just chose among to see if you find one you like better. I have looked at some of those that are available and I haven't found too many suited for the over 20 crowd.

As time permits I will continue to look.
