When I get to a listing of threads and click on one, why do I have to click on it again to read the initial thread? Likewise, to escape, I have to click twice in two seperate operations.

I'm not sure I do recognize the problem or understand enough to recreate the problem. On what page are you (initial Forum Home Page, Thread overview page in a specific forum or on a page showing the content of a thread (and in what mode inline, threaded mode or hybrid)?

And under what heading would I FIND my "MODE" options? I changed nothing at this end when the new board appeared.

Have a look under the Display option just above the Thread window:

Okay, that gives me a listing of "Linear", "Hybrid" and "threaded" - I'll just bet that SOMEWHERE there's a screen that tells me what those mean. Unfortunately it is NOT under "display".
