    TDB Problems

I just tried to post some information regarding clutch covers. I spent quite a bit of time composing a new thread, taking photos and attempting to post them. In the process of trying to post the new photos I lost my entire composition. VERY FRUSTRATING and a definite disincentive for me to post anything. I have had numerous other problems since the new software was installed including very slow or difficult access to the board. The old software worked beautifully. Personally, I do not regard the new as an improvement. Quite the contrary.

I have had the same problem here and at work. What I have done as a work around is to develop everything in a seperate word document 1st, and then copy and paste onto the board...Don

I thought there was an auto-save function with this version of the software, used it last week. (?)

I hate everything about the new software, even the faded-out look of the pages. Everything looks so artificial or cheap or something. It just doesn't look friendly and attractive any more.

Agree. I tried to post some very interesting pictures a few days ago. I gave up.

I can't agree more with Larry, and I'm sure others will also that you can't help but notice the lack of color/contrast compared to the "old" software.

I lost a post earlier today too, and it took over a minute just to open this thread to complain about it.

I haven't experienced any problems so far with speed or mechanics. For me, it's running as fast or faster than the old version. No wait for loading at all.

                      Jack,

Please notice you can change the colors to your like by going to your profile (via the MyProfile link at the upper right corner) and selected the Customize My Profile button (see attachment) on the near right top.

Experiment, with a second window open to view the result, with all the different color settings and Save when you are happy with the end result...

                        Joe,

Sorry to hear you have lost your posting while posting the pictures. One of the improvements this new setup of vBulletin is offering is the Auto-Save option and by returning to the page you should be able to retrieve the content of you previous mail from the backup made. There should be a Restore Auto-Save button to restore your added text...

See more on the new build-in vBulletin 4.x features (including the editors Auto-Save): https://www.vbulletin.com/forum/entr...ed-by-CKEditor (I will ask John to add the link into the FAQ).

                          Re: TDB Problems

I just tried a autosave experiment on the Test Forum. I created a new post, waited for autosave(it's every 30 seconds). I added a picture, waited till it autosaved again. I deliberately exited the window without submitting the thread, like a crash or server busy error or whatever.

I went back to the Test Forum, clicked Post New Thread, and at the bottom of the editor window was the "Restore' button. Clicked it and all of my text was replaced. The picture wasn't there though.

It's good that it worked to save the text.

Joe, just for the heck of it, go back into the TDB, click to Post New Thread, and see if the Restore Button is there at the bottom of the editor window.

                          Hope it works!

I have had no problems, and the site seems faster since the upgrade, and I am using an older computer with XP.
