    Re: staying logged in

I don't understand the response by the IT team. Are you saying that this site will now require you to log in for each session or is this another glitch in this new version of the NCRS forum?
Maybe the few who are computer savvy like this new forum format, but for me posting pictures in this new system is a pain in the you know what. I have posted pictures on one occasion since the system was changed and it took me about 45 minutes to fiqure out how to do it.
But thank goodness we got Facebook, I sleep much better now.

      Dear IT Dudes,

I believe your intent is well meant however believe us Members don't want nor need this extra layer of security. Adding that we most likely will take responsiblilty for "our" passwords. An inconvenience.....yes it is......nonetheless request the password change be rescinded.

        Re: staying logged in

As for me, I don't mind too much because I've found the traffic has fallen off a lot lately. I started to get a little paranoid when I got no responses from my posts, like no one liked me anymore (black listed). That's ok. With the advent of my physically waining years, my interests in classic vettes has also wained and with the other old guys connected to them. I'm really an old Hot Rodder at heart. Prior to 1963, I used to pride myself in how many smug Vette owners I could run circles around with my tri 5 Chevies. The only thing good about the pre 63 Vettes were their motors. I'm almost sorry my buddy talked me into my 63 rather than the 409 Biscayne I was planning to get. Now the thing is still hanging around like a well worn favorite pair of pants.

          Re: staying logged in

I will take personal responisbility for my passwords and IT security. The Linkedin security breech should not have any effect on this TDB. If someone is dumb enough to use the same login and passwords for all their accounts, so be it.

I have better things to do with my time that to log in a forum every thirty minutes.

Hopefully the issue is resolved now (you may need to log in once more). Sorry for the inconvenience. We are now scrambling the content of your cookie so a malicious person can no longer snif it on your Wifi network and steal your password (which you might use elsewhere as well).

I just deleted my NCRS.ORG cookies and then logged in. It is much better now.

It's apparently growing its "Log In" bite; I didn't have to log in this AM, but now I do...they must be afraid I'll forget my membership #.....

lol.....don't know if it's so much being lazy as the convenience of being able to dive right into the web site.

I deleted my cookies and temp files but it still wants me to log in. The good thing is that all I have to do is hit the first letter of my name and it enters then just click on the password box and it enters. Easy enough.

Problem would've been resolved sooner if a Help Desk ticket www.ncrs.org/helpdesk/ had been initiated yesterday.

                              Re: staying logged in

When I logged in just now, it tells me my user name or password was invalid, yet I am logged in. When I was not logged in, the forum still knew who I was because the threads I had read in the previous session were grayed out.

I don't mind logging in each time. I point this out because something is still amiss.

                                Rich,

Delete all the NCRS.org cookies in your browser and login and click "Remember Me".

That will reset your cookie and you shouldn't have any problems. If the problem continues, please open a ticket www.ncrs.org/helpdesk/ and provide detail information.
