    Copying Posts

Is there a way to hard copy postings? I have a problem with Corvette America's floor mat and I have a posting that defines the carpet heal pad color. C.A. has requested a copy of the post in order to support my argument.

    Thanks,
    Dan.

Cut the entire post and paste it into an email to yourself. Send it to yourself then simply print it.

      Dan,

There are several ways to print posts. Harry describes one good way. It gives you the ability to only copy the important parts that you may want to include.

Another way is to go to the menu above and click on Thread Tools then Show Printable Version. This will render a printable version of the entire thread. How you print from there will depend on what browser you are using. All of the browsers that I know of have a print function. Most of them probably work with the Ctrl-P shortcut.

Dan, you can also email the thread to yourself from the "Thread Tools" pull down menu. Gary....

          John,

On the old board, from the Thread Tools, it was possible to print a single post. I haven't been able to do that with this board. Do you know if thisis possible without copying and pasting?

          Thanks.

          Dennis

            Re: Copying Posts

            Dennis,

The Thread Tool only seems to work for threads not single posts.

My favorite way is to copy and paste the information to a file and then save it in your My Documents folder in a subfolder named NCRS Resources or something like that.

The easiest way to copy and paste is to highlight everything in the post that you want to save. Press Ctrl-c to copy it. (That is Press the CTRL or Ctrl key and hold it and then press the c key.) Open Word or Wordpad or your other favorite word processing program. Open a blank document and click in the document then press Ctrl-v (That is Press the CTRL or Ctrl key and hold it and then press the v key.) This works across all Windows Programs.

I find it helpful to create a document for each subject. Brakes, Engine, Interior, Chassis, etc. then open the appropriate document and add the newest post to the bottom of the document. Then when you need some help on your brakes you can open the document and you have your reference guide that you built yourself.

                Thanks Guys,

Looks like I got it figured out. Will send to Corvette America tomorrow. Now, the hard part may be their attitude.

Here is how I copied John Waggoner's reply. I right clicked on his post to light up the page (all blue). Then I went to File and pushed print. I got the reply in two pages as the first page was of no value. The 2nd page has Johns post plus part of the title page.
