    On Line Drive Line

Gentlemen, in the past I have never had a problem down loading Drive Line.

This month is came in very different. Could not understand it and it really hard to navigate. Not presented like past issues.
Additionally at the bottom of the page is a section called catalogs. I saw that these items referred to tax issues.
Am I losing it totally? I don't know what to think.

    Hi Pat
John or Gary may have a better answer, but I would say log out, shut down, reboot, and re-log in, and hit the on-line driveline button again. I just checked on my end, and the issue came up just like all issues in the past. I don't see anything that says catalogs at the bottom of the page. You might also try accessing it via Firefox, or Chrome.
    good luck

      Re: On Line Drive Line

Don, thanks for the response. I have shut down the computer and started over, but the result is the same. The information that is shown with this messed On-Line Drive Line is called Publications at the bottom of the first page. You click that and you get a website of Mydigitalpublication.com and it has catalogs listed that have electronic stuff for sale and there is also the Garident Tax Brochure 2011 information. Where this came from I have no idea. I have never heard or saw anything related to the Garident Tax Brochure in my life.
      It sure has me baffled.

      Thanks again for your help

OK, above my paygrade. Sounds like a job for superman, ie, Gary or John (or Rob). One of them will fix you up.

        Pat-
access the on line Driveline by clicking on Member Services and then from the drop down, Publications, then on-line Driveline. See if anything different happens.

            Pat,

Tested with IE and Chrome - clicked on the Online Driveline tab on the blue menu bar and all worked OK.

The Online Driveline is digitally published by the paper printing company. They might have had a problem. All NCRS does it provide the link to their digital media version of the Driveline.

Gary, thanks for your response. However, it really means nothing to me in that I do not understand anything about which you describe. It's just the education that an old guy of 74 never got in computers. All I know is that when I click on the on line drive line I get stuff I can not handle and I have no idea on how to fix it.
I have no idea what IE and Chrome are also. Not complaining to you or giving you a hard time, but I am at a loss and don't know how to fix it. Maybe next time that I received the drive line it will be different. I appreciate the time and effort you provide to the membership.

Here is a portion of the stuff that I got:

                Pat,

IE - Internet Explorer and Chrome are both browsers, as is Firefox. Gary was trying to determine what browser you were using to try and help diagnose the problem you describe. I am thinking you need to CLEAR HISTORY on what ever browser you are using. Just a thought BWTFDIK

Although I don't see exactly the same thing on my screen as Pat, I don't think the problem is on his end- at least not entirely. If you follow the link he sees, it leads to the home page of the company that hosts the Driveline

A little digging around there leads to a directory of hundreds of other publication including catalogues, financial reports, magazines, etc. etc., some dating back to 2005 or earlier, none of which have anything to do with the NCRS.

I'd suggest that the publishing company be advised of this glitch and to tighten up their own security or architecture.

                    Pat,

Recommend you follow Rick's advice on clearing out the cookies and history per this Help Desk Knowledge Base article.

                    Questions:
                    1) Do you have that link saved to a Bookmark or Favorites?
                    2) Or are you logging into the Technical Discussion Board and then clicking on the Online Driveline button on the blue menu bar?
                    3) What Internet browser are you using? Do you click on a big "E" to go to the Internet?
                    4) How old is your PC? This might help us with what Internet browser version you're using.

FWIW, my wife took a "how to use the Internet" class at the local high school. Many Junior Colleges, high schools and even churches offer adult PC and smart phone classes. Even our own John Waggoner took an iPhone class at his church. You might want to look into a class. It would surely help and might reduce the frustration level.

                      Mikey,

Would agree IF others were having the same problem as Pat. But, I don't remember seeing anyone else post about the problem.

                        Re: On Line Drive Line

Guys, I am now having some more trouble.

I sent a response to Gary's latest post and was told I had to re enter my password.

I guess this is because I followed the advice and deleted my browsing history. Now that response it lost somewhere

In the response that some how is missing I stated that I have NCRS website as a favorite. I use Explorer 8. In using the favorite I then go to the Board and click on the Online Driveline like I have been doing since it started.
My PC is a 4 year old Toshiba Satellite E105.

I think that Mike has a good point in that the information shown on the bottom of my page belongs to the company that handles the Online Driveline. How would I be able to access that information.
I also went independently to the internet and signed onto the NCRS website and got the same result.

This is the only site that I am having some difficulty with at this time.

Don't get me wrong guys, I really appreciate all your help and suggestions and in fact I sure do welcome them.

                          Pat,

I rarely access the DRIVELINE from work, but decided I would to see if I had similar problem as you describe. I logged in to the NCRS website and then clicked on ONLINE DRIVELINE and it took some time, but the FIRST page correctly displayed. There was NOTHING as you describe. I don't even know how old the system is here at work, but OLDER than yours (still run XP!)! I use Firefox as my browser, and running version 14.0.1 which is also OLD!

                            Pat,

First - delete the link you have book marked http://www.mydigitalpublications.com That link should not be used to access the Online Driveline.
Will advise John Waggoner to tell the digital publisher that anyone can access that link.

Second - click on the Online Driveline button from the blue menu bar on the Technical forum. That's how you should access the Online Driveline.
