Glad it worked for you. Between the 3 of us we've spent over 8 hours researching and testing. Still can't figure out why or what.

Turning the Enhanced Attachment Uploader off is the best workaround we found.

My original problem was the fact that no box showed up on the left of the screen containing your files, when you hit browse. The box shows up now with the work-around solution. Whatever is preventing the file box from appearing the original way after you hit browse was what was stopping me from posting pics. with my IE browser. Once the file box shows up, everything works cool.

Well now it looks like I'm royally screwed. Did the enhancement "attach upload off" and now I get a screen I never saw before, full page with a list of permissable file types and kilobyte limits. Nowhere do I see the previous images I've uploaded over the years. Anyway, at the top of this page is a browse button, and that seems to work OK. The only other button (top at the right) is "upload". When I select my jpeg and click on that, I get error 500: Internal Server Error.

No Basic Uploader button appears anywhere. I should crank up my old standby Windows XP machine with Firefox browser to see what happens.

I can always use Photobucket, but I don't like to unnecessarily post pics there related to minute technical issues that don't need to exceed the discussion board pixel limits of 800 x 600.

I would think you'd be inundated with members trying to upload pics by now.

Wayne....The work-around solution only works for me in the " advanced " mode. It does NOT work in the " basic " mode.........Gary

Some " screen shots " in the " go advanced " mode, using the basic up loader. I had to up load each screen shot separately for it would not up-load multiple images.

Rob --- refer to my post #1; can't explain it any better than that. I'll try it again shortly and report only if it's now working, but it seems others are having a similar problem with other op.sys and browsers.

Testing with my old Windows XP machine. I can attach a photo to a post. This post is being sent from this same old computer. I still don't see any "basic uploader" button.

So you guys/gals with Bill Gates finest can still post pics [hurrah ]. Something has definitely happened, although because I'm merely a computer hobbyist (not even level 1) I can't figure it out.

For instance: presently, on a Windows machine, how are you supposed to search through previously posted jpegs and select one or more that may be appropriate for a current thread, and re-post as an attachment ?

Screen shot of where the basic uploader. It is at the lower right hand of the box. Clicking on the words will bring it up.

To locate prior images, click on " User Profile " Go to the bottom of the drop box, and click " attachments ".

Gary -- what operating system are you using with your screen shots ?

I'd like to send screen shots of what I'm experiencing, but, of course, I can't (that's the whole problem ). With my Firefox on Ubuntu (Linux), with Enhanced Uploading ON and go to advanced mode (as you suggest) I get the screen that I'm most familiar with (screen shot #1 attached if I only I had an email of someone). BUT, it shows only my last 20 pic postings; there are many more screens of pics that I would normally select with "next" button or arrows -- which are no longer there. Also the "basic uploader" button used to be in the upper RH corner, in the area a bit under the "Add Files" and "Upload" buttons -- but is now absent.

With enhanced uploading OFF (as has been suggested) I get this weird screen that I've never seen before (screen shot #2 which again I can't attach). Again, no "basic uploader" button, nor thumbnails of any of my previous postings. If I select a file from the "Browse" step, and hit the upload button, I get ERROR 500 message, and can't proceed any further.

So I need someone in the IT group or others in this thread to PM me an email address to I can send them the two screen shots referenced in the paragraphs above, and they could then post. I tried my old Windows XP computer without success, but should try again, with enhanced uploading ON, then OFF, to see what happens there.

This is very frustrating, both for me and you guys.

Wayne....I'm running Internet Explorer 11 on a Windows 7 Home Premium System. It's simple to take a screen shot on my system, but it won't do you any good. Each system is different, with different steps. I found out how to do it by going to Google. In the search box type in....How to take a screen shot on Windows XP........... You can substitute any running system for that question. Google will also give you answers for your EROR 500 problem too.

Before you try XP again, make sure your system is up to date by checking "Windows Update ". Can't find a program on your system? GOOGLE the question, for it is your friend.

Why are you using FIREFOX as a browser????? Did your computer originally come with it?????????

Gary F --- thanks for the info . Screen shots are no problem for me (hit the key on the keyboard, save it to wherever I choose). I could check Google for the "Error 500", though. I did an update on my Windows XP today (I usually try this machine about once a month to keep the bearings oiled ). Firefox is the default browser that comes with the Ubuntu distribution. I suppose I could use Chrome, but doubt if Internet Explorer would function on a Linux system. I've been on Ubuntu for 5 years with no problems.

I've sent Gary C. the two screen shots on Ubuntu -- with enhanced switched ON, and enhanced OFF. Let's see if he can figure out what my/the problem is.

Wayne....I may " roll back " my browser from IE 11 to IE 10 to see if everything comes back the old way. It's worth a shot.

why not open a ticket in the NCRS IT Helpdesk (www.ncrs.org/helpdesk) and upload your screen shots there???

Gary Chestnut, I realize that you guys are working on the photo upload problem. I to have the problem; unable to upload photos. Additionally, I used to have a significant "collection" of photos that were added over the years to the database. They disappeared last week. Just thought I'd let you know, if that will help in trying to determine a cure. I'm using Windows 7 & 8; 2 different computers, both with the same result. Good luck.
