C3 Intake Gaskets-I Have Two/Which Set to Use?

For a 1979 L-82 aluminum intake? One is GM #14038088 and the other is 10147994. Joe L. recommended the latter; I cannot remember what the former is....It is in very old packaging. It was purchased more than 10 years ago.

Actually, you could use either set. The GM #14038088 is an earlier gasket set for your application. GM #10147994 is the latest and current iteration of the intake manifold gasket for your application. I don't recollect knowing that you had the 14038088 when I recommended that you obtain the 10147994. In any event, under the assumption that the latest gasket set might represent some functional improvement over the previous, I think that I'd probably use the 10147994. However, if there is some configuration difference between the side gaskets which is visible with the manifold installed on the car and you are concerned about possible judging issues, then I'd use the earlier set. Your choice, though.
