Diff. cover numbers

I've decided to replace the broken differential cover with as close to the original as I can to keep it factory.

I believe that the PN is 3871375. Does anyone know what range of date codes I should try and get. This is a 73 ratio 3:36 The vehicle was built April 10 1973 (according to the GM documents that I have)

I don't think I have seen a date code on a 73 cover. It is on the carrier and very hard to see when judging. This is one place you could spend lots of money for very few points. The Differential,mounting brackets and strut rod bracket only have 10 points originalty and 9 condition. with 20% for the date and three 3 parts judged or 4 if the cover is considered. You do the math. 1? 2? Points

try paragon for the diff cover. they usually have a good assortment of used covers with date codes. when i broke mine on my 69 (dont ask)i called them and got a similarly dated (within 3 days!) of my original cover. think i paid about $150 (kinda expensive)
