    69 BB Oil Dipstick

The new 68-69 JG says "red button" on the dipstick for a 69 427 engine. I thought it should be white.

I've seen 70-74 BB 454 dipsticks with the red button. I've seen both styles too...the "Air Conditioned" extra long, and the "non AC" regular size...both with red buttons for those years with the 454. Correct? I don't know.

A major repro manufacturer sells "correct" dipsticks....with a white button.

Who's right? Somewhere along the line, somebody told me the original dipstick should have a white button, with the PN 3959158 and Engine Oil MS stamped on it. Thoughts? Thanks in advance. Chuck

Chuck, As I recall my 70 LS-5 A/C car had the long dipstick with a salmon plug. Just a little confusion.
