    Intake number

I've come across an intake manifold that looks very much like a 70 LT1. I know that the correct number would be 3972110. The one that I have has a number of 3932472. Can anyone tell me what it is?

    Thanks, Dan

    3932472 intake is listed for a 1969 Camaro with a 302 engine (Z28)

      Thanks Robert,
Would you know if this manifold would work (flow) as good as the LT1 manifold since it was used on a smaller displacement engine? Also, how similiar is the 70-72 Z-28 manifolds compared to the Corvette? I have the following numbers -70 LT1 as 3972110 - 71 as 3959594 - 72 as ? Does anyone know what the casting numbers are for the 70-72 - Z-28?

        1970 Z-28 and LT-1 3972110, 1969 Z-28 3932472, 1971 and 1972 Z-28 3959594 is what i have listed.

          Thanks Clem,
Does any one know if the LT1 manifolds have an opening for a oil fill tube?

I thought that 1968 was the last year of the oil fill tube. Bob

              Bob,
The 3932472 manifold I have, has got an oil filler tube in it. It looks original and has a nipple on the tube to attatch a PCV valve to the carb.

if i remember correctly the early Z-28/LT-1 had a recess where the oil filler goes but is not open clear thru. any good machine shop should be able to open up all the way thru.

                  Dan -

Any 2472 manifold with a filler tube on it has had it added; the '69 Z/28 was the (one-year-only) usage of that manifold, and they weren't drilled for the tube (although the boss and recess was present at the tube location). 1968 was the last year for SB oil filler tubes.

                    the 68 Z-28 manifold # 3917610

should give the same performance as the later ones if you want a oil filler tube.

The 67-68 Z28 3917610 intake manifold does have an oil filler tube opening. I've got one of these manifolds on my NOM 350 in my '62. Works great. Someday I'd like to sell it and put something more appropriate on the car.

Just for clarification, the "472" 69 Z/28 intake has the oil fill hole drilled but the opening is fitted with a freeze plug. You could pop out the plug and add the filler tube (but why?).

                        -Mark.
