69 Vent Knob

I must have 2 dozen allen wrenches. None of them fit the fresh air vent knob set screws. Does anyone know the correct size allen for this application? My eyesite isn't too good. Is it possibly, not an allen wrench? Please help!!jack

I can't tell you the size off-hand. However, I can tell you that it is an allen head and it is a standard size, not an "odd-ball" of any kind.

Sometimes, the threads in the black plastic knob (assuming that you have the later 69 style with the black, round plastic knobs) get stripped. When this happens you can be actually engaged with the allen wrench and turning the screw but it feels like you're using too small of a wrench and not engaging the screw head.

Thanks Joe, I guess I have not tried the right size wrench. I don't think they are stripped so I will just hang in there till I can find the right one. By the way, yes it is the late model, June 13. jackdr

1/16 inch hex wrench is the size.
