I have read in the archives that it is best to reuse my original springs, unless they are visibly worn or damaged in order for the front of my car to sit at the proper height. Evidentally, repro springs have a habit of raising the front will too high. Does anyone know, from experience, of a manufacture that makes springs that will allow my car to sit proper. I don't mind reusing my originals, but when I removed them, someone had placed spacers between the coils. I don't know if they did this because they had to, or just wanted to alter the height. I was happy with the height before I removed them, but don't want to reinstall(without spacers) them and find out they were needed because the springs were worn. It sounds like a big job installing them, and I don't want to so it twice.

Re: 67 BB front coil springs
Rob - spring replacement is a bit of work but is not terrible if you proceed using prudent process and tools, but you are right, you want to do it one time. I have a set of BB springs from GM so I don't have personal experience, but I read a thread earlier today posted here about some original length and construction reproduction springs from Volunteer Vette that caught my eye. You may want to look for it, they also offer other excellent reproduction parts I haven't seen as frequently elsewhere, they have a catalog I picked up at BG this year. Usually, the spacers mean that spring has fatigued and dropped some, I don't know if the coils can be redone as readily and rearching leaf springs. I can try and dig up the catalog and check for you...BTW, thx again for the 67 A.I.R. air cleaner base...Craig- Top

Re: 67 BB front coil springs
I recently replaced my springs because.... without the spacers the front end drooped. I put the spacers in about 20 years ago. When I took the springs out they measured 17". The new springs that I purchased also measured 17" (BB no Air). F-41's are shorter... with heavier gauge "wire". My old springs were not excessively rusty or anything. I could probably bead blast them and they'd look new. I have yet to place a load (engine and body) on the new springs so I don't know for sure if I have corrected the droop problem but I certainly hope so!!!!! I have a picture of BB NO AIR and F 41 side by side for comparison. Check them out.
