Technical Board Archvies Search Revamped! *TL*

In response to many requests a more efficient way to search the TDB Archives has been implemented. While it is still not possible to search all 100,000 messages in one pass, it has been refined to about 50,000 messages per search. You can search the entire archives, and the current board in only two passes. It takes a little time for the script to search all of the messages, but it doesn't seem to time out before the search is complete.

Anyone that experiences a problem with server error messages let me know which search you were using Search 1 or Search 2 and the term(s) you were searching on. This will help to refine any problems out of the new search engine.

    Thanks for you patience.

Re: Technical Board Archvies Search Revamped!

    John -
Thank you, that is very functional. Two suggestions (if practical):
    1. Make "All Terms", rather than "Any", be the default
    2. Allow "phrases in parentheses" to be counted as a unique term

      Thank you John!

That will really help a lot! I like Al's ideas, too. But with or without them, I appreciate the improvement!
