    1960 heater motor

The P&A 30 book gives part number 5044402 for the '57-'62 heater motors. Is there anyway to cross reference this to the motor used on the '55-'56 Chevy passenger cars? I believe they may be the same. After '56, passenger car motor was mounted under hood on firewall.

    Great guess!!!

My copy of the 1929-58 Chevy P&A (includes Corvette & Pass Car), lists under section 8.855 the same blower motor assy called out for 55-56 Pass Car and 57-58 Corvette (remember, the book stops listing parts as of 1958).

Further, the P/N listed is 5047728 with the notation these were STAMPED with the same number (5047728). Now, by '58 this may be a functional replacement for the motor actually used in 55-56 Chevy passenger cars and the motor might have changed again by 1960, but sure looks/sounds like a 55-56 Chevy passenger car heater blower should fit/function inside your air distribution box....

      Re: Lucky Sometimes!!!

Thanks Jack, that sounds like enough compelling evidence to pay $35 for a used blower motor from 55-56 Chevy.
