    C1 PN 3709497 3756540 Joe Lucia?

My '58 has front springs 3709497. 3756540 has been suggested as correct. Can someone please look up references on origin of these PNS?
    Thanks, ... AL '58 #378

    Al-----

GM #3756540 was the original PRODUCTION front spring used for 1960, 1961 and 1962 Corvettes. It became the SERVICE spring for 53-59, but I don't think that it was used in PRODUCTION on those year cars. I'll have to confirm later what the PRODUCTION part number was for those years but, I expect, it was 3709497.

      Al,
The 3756540 springs I have came out of a 58 that was getting a C4 suspension upgrade. The owner of that car believes the springs were original as the car had not been restored but He isn't the original owner, so the springs could be service replacements put in the car sometime before he purchased it. Makes you wonder how come it can be so difficult to work on a car that is so simple, at least compared to a C5?

        Addendum

        Al-----

The GM #3909497 was the 53-58 Corvette PRODUCTION front spring. It was discontinued on November 1, 1958 and replaced for 53-58 SERVICE by the 59-62 PRODUCTION spring, GM #3756540.

            Correction

Obviously or not, when I posted "3909497" I meant 3709497.
