I'm looking to replace non correct looking radials with as close to correct looking radials as possible. Can someone recommend a white wall that would work in this situation? Thank You!

Try Diamondback tires website @ widewhitewalltires.com They take current, speed rated tires and put in a gold, white, or red stripe that looks correct on midyears. I think they mainly use a P205-75-15 Firestone tire. The price is around $150.00 each. I checked earlier this year but ended up using Firestone repros. Also look at Coker's stuff, I believe they make a whitewall radial.

If you're not interested in maximum performance tires, ask your local dealer to show you tires with a "highway tread design", vs an "all weather tread" or "performance tread". I think you'll find tires with a more correct appearance and they wil be a lot less expensive than the repo tires. If you want to drive triple digit speeds, you need to look at speed rated tires.- Top

Re: 66 radial tires on knock off wheels
Thanks for the insight. I'm not looking to go three digit speeds, I just would like the radials to look as close to correct as possible. I have been told to also look for a tight tread design because you are less likely to have a rock shoot up under the fender. It's also been hard to find the right white wall width. If anyone knows a brand in a fairly reasonable price range, I would appreciate it. Joseph- Top

Re: 66 radial tires on knock off wheels
Michelin X radial all weather whitewall is narrow measures 5/8 inch
I have these tires on both of my 1965 cars. The ride and handling characteristics are far superior to bias ply tires. The cost at Sams Club was in the $65 range each. They mounted them on Knock Offs on one car and stock rims on the other car. No inflated "holier than thou" prices just high quality Michelin X all weather tires. P.S. I took the repro goldline tires to the county dump. It cost me $3.50 to get rid of those junkers ! Money well spent.- Top
