    C2 - '67 vent window trim

This winter, I want to remove the chrome trim from a '67 conv. vent windows, and have it replated.

Can this be done fairly easily, or is there much involved? I can say with complete certainty that the trim has never been removed.

    Thanks.

    Tom,
refer to the AIM, UPC 1 Doors, Sheet K14 for a graphic of the proceedure
Sheet K13 tells you how to assemble and adjust the vent window

To remove the vent window assembly

    remove the door panel
remove the attaching nut & washer at the bootom front of the door
remove the upper attaching nut & washer
remove the upper attaching bolt & washer

you should now be ablr to raise and rotate the assembly out of the door. It is a snug fit in & out

Next remove the the vent window regulator

The vent window it self is also removeable but, I think, you have to remove the pivot rivet, but you can remove the event glass and its weatherstrip

    Good luck,
    Don

You shouldn't have much trouble to do this. You should do this with two people!! You will find that you will need new weather strips also. I had mine replated during my complete resto and just put them back in the car last week. I have been struggling with one side to get the proper gaps set between the door frame and the weatherstrip. Be real careful when taking out so not to scratch the paint. The unit comes out and goes in as a whole with the vent regulator attached. I took the opportunity to also have the regulators rebuilt. You also do not want to scratch the window. I had the window out also which made things alot easier. It is held in by two nuts (and you need to remove the window stops). The vent window has 4 contact or place that have to be tighted down.

Thanks Don and Keith. Excellent info, and I'll be giving it a go later after the New Year.
