My name is Chris Northup and I'm searching for a 63-74 coupe or roadster in darker colors for a commercial for the new Corvette. I work for the production company contracted to shoot the spot-- SHOOT LA. Please e-mail me if you are interested. This is definitely a paid engagement and all physical contact with the car will be handled by GM's offical car prep company. We shoot in Los Angeles the week of Jan. 17 through 24. There are no complicated driving shots- --nothing more than pulling the car to a stop and having an actor get out of it. We have produced several car commercials that you may have seen and work in the utmost professional manner. I'd prefer to work with owners in the LA/So. CA area...if I can't find it here, it may not exist! Working on a dealine so don't hesitate to contact me. Great opportunity to build your car's resume. Thanks for your time and consideration. I hope this posting is not an imposition. Very sincerely, Chris Northup SHOOT LA Inc. e-mail me at Northfilm@aol.com for phone contact info. I'm happy to tell all about it.

Re: Search for 63-74 for Corvette commercial in So
Does anyone here know if this is legit? He told me my car was the perfect year, color, etc. But I am on the east coast, so it may require more than they wish to spend. Then I don't here from him?
Then I was talking with a dealership in PATTERSON,CA who supplies vehicles for GM commercials and he told me he had never heard of them. Anyone have an opin.

Probably legit
The vehicle company you spoke to probably wouldn't know MOST of the production companies in L.A.. G.M. would have an exclusive arrangement with their ad agency, but each individual commercial will usually be competitively pitched and bid on by several production companies. I don't know SHOOT-LA either, but that means nothing. There are about a zillion of them here.
A sad thing about business here is that you generally don't get a call unless they want to use you. Producers generally mean well and intend to call everyone, but you'd be surprised how much time that takes versus how little time they actually have on these things.- Top

Re: Probably legit
Thanks Mike,
The guy seemed sincere enough, I just have not heard back from him after getting a little over excited over this possibility and the praise he affored me over the car.I guess these things just don't happen over night, and I'll just keep my fingers crossed.

Re: Probably legit
Gregg I assure we are totally legit, but you do have it right about taking time...we shoot in mid January and before then I have to find as many cars that fit our criteria as I can...then the criteria change...its kind of like being married I guess...do this do that...don't do this. Thanks for your patience and offer...we're pretty sure we can find the car out here, but if not- we know you have a beauty and we'll dial you up. Thanks, Chris SHOOT LA INC.- Top
