I am the second owner of a 65 coupe that the original owner ordered radio delete. The first owner was an engineer at delco radio in Kokomo,IN. I was wondering if anyone knew if radio delete dashes were being reproduced, or any NOS dashes are out there? thanks

Re: C2 1965 radio delete dash
It was not a radio delete. the radio was an option that the the person who ordered the car chose not to have. I dont know of anyone who makes new dashes. I have seen them used at Bloomington in the past. I was lucky the second owner of my 65 installed the radio on the jack cover board and left the dash alone. what engine do you have ? Bill- Top

Re: C2 1965 radio delete dash
I believe that the dash centre section on a 65 is fibreglas (and never had a 'skin' as with the 63-64 models). potentially, you could remove the chrome bezel around the radio cut-out (assuming there is a bezel), and 'fill' the cut-outs using glass mat (from the back so as not to be visible), finishing off with a thin layer of feather-fill or the like on the front surface, then sand, prime and repaint as original. A fair bit of work, but it should pass visual inspection (from the front, anyway). Good luck!
