Can anyone give an accurate description of the Tung Sol 323 flasher used on the 1967 turn signal system? I know it should be non-dot and yellow plastic but not much else. Also,on the #170 hazard flasher,is the metal can stamped or is it correct/acceptable to have the information printed in green ink? Thanks in advance for your input,Kieran #11373

Re: C2 Flashers
Kieran - The 1967 yellow plastic TS 323 flasher has a cylinder shaped cover. The cover will have the TUNG-SOL 323 on the first line and 3 LAMP 12 VOLT on a second line embossed on one half of the cover’s top face. The bottom half has 3 lines as follows SAE J5908 (LINE 1), USA PAT. RE 24023 (LINE 2), and FLASHER (LINE 3). Center on the top the flasher is a split “knob” which is really a quarter turn screw which was used on Fords to attach the flasher to one of the braces under the dash instead of th clip used on GM cars. The connector legs on the ‘67 vintage TS flashers did not have a hole thru them whereas later production TS323s do. Also, on the side of the cover there will be a 3 digit production code (yww) stamped where y = last digit of the year and ww = week.
The 1967 SS175 flasher will have a green (the green color varies from very light to medium) anodized, retangular-box-shaped metal cover. The top of the cover has SIGNAL-STAT (LINE 1), 175 (LINE 2), and 12V FLASHER (LINE 3) embossed on it. On one side of the cover, near the bottom there will be a 3 digit production code (wwy) stamped where ww = week and y = last digit of the year. The letter “S” or “T” is stamped before the production code on the same line. The connector legs on the ‘67 vintage SS flashers have a hole thru each of them.
