    C1 master cylinder rebuild

I am rebuilding the master cylinder on my 1960 (actually, its all but totally rebuilt pending the answer to this question) and have a concern about the feed holes between the master cylinder reservoir and the slave. After cleaning everything up, I find what appears to be two (2) holes/dimples in the base/bottom inside of the reservoir, about 1/2 inch apart, along the long axis of the cylinder/slave, but only one (1) hole opens to the slave chamber. I can place a small 18-20G wire into and out the first hole, the other dimple is truely there and I can introduce a wire, but does not go through into the slave chamber...did not want to force it through in case there is truely supposed to be only one hole.

Is one of the two holes plugged and does it need to be bored clean, or is there usually just one hole that feeds to the slave chamber (the other dimple for what)?

    Thanks for you help.

There is a port where the dimple is. It is a very small hole in comparison to the rear port. Probably full of crud.
