According to the wiring diagram each door switch is to have three wires going to it;white-alarm, blue-door ajar and black for the ground. Upon working on mine I notice each switch has two wires; one blue and one white. When either wire is touched to the surrounding metal piece in the body that holds the switch the door ajar light comes on. When the switch is installed and allowed to close the door ajar light goes on as it should. I bought an old switch from another 73 and it has three wires plus the switch is shaped differently. Mine is a very late model 73 - late July. Is this switch, wiring method and mounting method for the 1974 models or is it a "modification" by the person whom did a partial restoration?
