My security system worked fine until a few months ago. All fuses in the panel are OK. Any advice on where to look next?

Re: C-3 alarm system
I would check the horn first ,off the corvette. It could be the ground or it may need a slight adjustment to get it going and clean up the terminals. The switches don't go bad all at the same time if it worked before.Lyle

Re: C-3 alarm system
Hello, in the early cars there is a flasher and relay, in the jack compartment, not sure about position in later years. Lock at the back or in fender, horn and switches in several places (doors and engine bay).

Re: C-3 alarm system
Best approach is to work back thru the system based on parts that perform a function. Start with the horn, pull it off the car, check it for function, if it works off the car, clean the bottom of the bracket where it attaches to the frame and also the frame area where the bolt connects the bracket and frame. Check for power at the switch. If not persent, follow the wiring diagram foreword to the power source and find the lost power. If ok, check the switch for function and proceed to check the relay. It should be in one of those areas.Bill Clupper #618- Top

Re: C-3 alarm system
My 72 has a complete system that did absolutely nothing when I purchased the car. I checked the wiring and schematics and knew that the system was complete. I pulled all of the components out and cleaned the contacts with steel wool. Reinstalled everything and it all worked. When I pulled the horn out, I used a 12V battery charger to verify that it would honk. I also flushed the key switch, on the back panel, with carb cleaner and then a very light shot of WD-40.
