Getting ready to install new auxilliary door weatherstrips on a '62 and it is difficult to tell how to finish the upper ends from my old ones because they are totally disintegrated at the upper ends. Illustrations in the AIM show the upper ends kind of blending into the main door weatherstrip, however, one of mine appears to have been secured under the lowest weatherstrip clip on the door post. My new parts are also long enough to run up under these clips. Can anyone tell me the correct way to finish off the upper ends of this weatherstrip? Thanks for the help!

Re: C1 Door Auxilliary Weatherstrip
I've never seen these under clips. The very top is usually bent over )squished onto) itself, so that it does not look like an L at all, but two layers, one on top of the other. It simply comes up and, as you suggest, bends to the main weatherstrip at, as I recall (it's very cold out in the barn) the base of the door post (where the chrome meets the fiberglass). Hope that's helpful!
