    C3 (1968) Distributor - Reputable Source Please

I want a complete, fully refurbished, Delco Remy distributor (including vacuum can) for my 1968 427/390 HP. Correct numbers are of less importance than function.

To date, I have determined that Corvette Central offers such a distributor. My previous dealings with Corvette Central have given me NO reason NOT to purchase from them but I want to be thorough in my search for reputable suppliers. I would appreciate your suggestions as to where else I might look.

    Thank you very much.

Henry - you might check with Dave Fiedler at TI specialties, although he mainly specialize in TI units. He does first rate restoration however, including blueprinting of the bushing to shaft fit, end play, and tachometer drive gear fit and end play. He also has access to the correct original advance curves for each application. I don't know if he deals in non TI units though...Craig

Craig, thank you for your advice. I had thought of Dave Fiedler but hadn't because, as you say, I believe his specialty is TI. However, your point is a good one. It's worth contacting him.

      Merry Christmas to you.

        Henry,

You might also consider High Tech Innovations in Florida. I don't have their new number handy (area code change; I'd check the Archives) but as they are the ones who manufacture the new shafts, etc., for everyone else, they also build brand new distributors. I'd give them a call.

Of course, you could also then purchase a new distributor band with the right info and nobody would know, but you didn't hear that from me.

Henry - looking at Dave's website later today, I see he now adds the breakerless systems to point style distributors and rebuilds them...but he may not sell them outright. Do you have a core that can be rebuilt, or are you missing the unit entirely? Merry Christmas to you too!...Craig
