I have changed the cam in my engine and the intake manifold now produces about 15" s of vacuum. The cam used was a crane 113942, with 454-480 lift. I noticed that my right side headlight won't go down with out racing the engine slightly. The right side was always alittle sluggish. Is this normal? Thanks Guys.

Re: 75 Headlights
John----
A manifold vacuum reading of 15", while lower than base engine Corvettes typically generate, is well within the range of what other high performance C3 engines produced the day they rolled out of St. Louis. I suspect that your vacuum system was marginal before the cam change; when you changed cams, the reduction in manifold vacuum put you into the "observable deficiency" range. The vacuum actuator seals may be all you need to resolve the problem. If they don't, you won't have lost much and you can move forward to more serious vacuum system repairs. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 75 Headlights
John, also what I did on my '75 is every swivel, hinge, etc. for the headlight buckets I gave them a good spray of WD-40. Lube all the pivot points, plastic oval bushings, and springs and it should make a difference in them "coming up" quicker. It did for me.- Top
