    IRVING AIR CHUTE CO.

For those wanting some history on the heretofore mysterious (at least to me) maker of Corvette seat belts, try http://www.airbornesystems-na.com/history.htm

For the first time, I found a written explanation for why the the "g" was added to the name of the founder: Leslie Irvin, who made the first parachute descent in 1918.

That explains some curious buckles that I have: They have a circular parachute logo with "Irvin" on the front, and "Irving Air Chute" stamped into the back.
