1969 Corvette Owners Manual. It is in excellent condition without any stains, rips or tears. This is a second edition from December 1968 and still contains the owners card inside (never written on). This once again is ORIGINAL and NOT a reproduction!
Johnny, I have talked with a couple of folks who sell these things and, with the card still attached, I have seen upwards of $50-75 in good condition. A bit less if the card is unattached. That was over a year ago. Then I found an original 1972 owner's manual with a 1971 printing date on Ebay for $15. It was a steal at that price. Now, my original owner's manual, that the PO has, has been found and is on its way to my house. If you have one with the card still attached, you have a fairly rare find.
At $100.00 you should find no stains anywhere and the green card attached for a 69 and this would be the high end ,I need it now price. If you have time and a lesser quality will do bargins are found at local swap meets at times and are a fun part of the hobby.
Hi Johnny - I paid $60 for a 70 original with the card still inside the manual. I have the original and a reproduction and there is a big difference between the two. The 60$ including shipping and I got it on Ebay.
If it was in excellent condition and you REALLY needed it, then I would say it was a fair price, considering that I was looking at them over a year ago for $75. But, there are those here who like to look at the points per dollar cost of things. Look in the judging guides and see what points are assigned to the manual and how much of a deduct you get for a repro. I think you will find that the points cost is minimal but the $100 cost is high. Just my $.02.
With all that said, I would pay that for a VERY nice owner's manual.
