    C1 Radio Ground Wire

I am installing the radio ground wire on my '62. It goes from the passenger side of the radio chassis to the inside rear right valve cover cap screw. Where does it pass through the firewall?

The AIM and ST-12 show it passing through the firewall on the passenger side. Both seem to indicate that it has dedicated hole in the firewall - that it's all by itself, and not with any other harnesses. But the only hole I can find over there is the one up by the coil that contains the ignition harness. Is there another hole in the firewall that maybe I'm missing? The car is up on jackstands, so I can't see real well down there.

    Chris,

I just installed the missing radio ground on my 61. I had the same question but I decided to use the same hole/grommet that the harness goes through which is just to the right of the ballast resistor.

Yes, that's the only hole in the firewall I can see over in that area. I was wondering if I was missing something - perhaps there was another hole farther down the firewall.

Chris, just going on memory, I believe that is correct.

What gauge is that ground wire?
          What kind of terminals?
          Thanks,

Looks around a 14-16 gauge. It's black. Both ends have 1/4" round closed tinned terminals. The GM kind where the wire is soldered to the terminal at the end and then crimped a little farther up the wire.

I ordered mine from Zip, but it came from Lectric Limited. $7 or $8.
