C-3 1968 Heater Hose Clamps and Brace Brackets

Can you believe this, .... I am thinking about working on my 68 today! We just finished opening presents, I just snow blowed 6 " of "Christmas Snow" off of the driveway. I must be a little sick. Anyway, while reading my NCRS Spec Book, I am a little confused.
1. Exactly what type of clamp is used on the heater hoses where they connect to the heater box by the firewall? Wire Spring Clamp, Tower, or C Clamp.

2. The Under Dash Brace Brackets noted in the NCRS Manual states that the Passenger Side is Painted Semi Gloss Black and the Dash Side is not painted. Would you paint the Dash Side bracket a raw / aluminum / silver color?

My 68 original owner 68 has the spring wire clamps. Will have to look under the dash when I get home from work on the braces.

While laying in the passenger floorboard of my 68 looking for a brace and not finding one I remembered reading once that early 68 convertibles originally did not have braces. Need some help here to confirm this.

My 68 convertible, vin 401580, also does not have that brace.
