I am rebuilding an old original water pump for my 60, and the rebuild kit has the newer style stamped steel impeller. Does anyone know which impeller flows better, the original cast one or the stamped steel one?
use the CI one but if you use the stamped steel make sure you pop rivet a brass disk to the back side to fill in the openings where they fold over the metal to make the fins or you will have cavatation at high RPMs
I was wondering how close to run it. I know from my industrial pump background, that the closer I run the impeller to the intake volute the more efficient it will pump, but was unsure how close to run it.
