    c2 tank sticker attachment

I am replacing my gas tank on my 1967 vette and I would like to attach the tank sticker to the new tank. Can anyone please tell me what method is correct? Is there a certain glue or adhesive material I should use to be like "original".

Also, can you answer yes or no to the following questions?

On a 67 427 390 hp, should the intake bolts be painted orange?

" should the 660 water neck bolts be painted orange?

    Thanks,
    Steve

    Steve -

The intake and thermostat housing were both in place when the engine was painted, so both the parts and their attaching bolts should be painted orange.

      Steve-----

If you want to attach the "tank sticker" as original, then what you have to do is place a good size daub of paper glue in the center of the rear of the sticker and then "slap it on". The glue will only be in the center and all of the edges of the sticker will "flap in the wind", so-to-speak. You can purchase the glue in just about any office supply store.

Also, I agree with John, your 67 L-36 definitely had the intake bolts and thermostat housing painted engine color. No doubt about it.

        Steve,
I would offer an opinion on the tank sticker reattachment. Seeing as it is already removed and given the fragile nature of it, you may want to consider placing it in a safe place rather than re-exposing it to the weather. I realize you can photograph it but to risk any further damage might be risky. Just my 2 cents.

I had the same thoughts. I think I would make a good photocopy and attach it, keeping the original in a safe clear plastic sleeve for safe keeping. If the tank is a reproduction, why not the tank sticker?

Steve - I would photocopy the the tank sticker, then attach a copy to your tank, to protect the original...Craig

Since it's not visible nor judged when I put in a correct gas tank on my '70 I had a high resolution copy of the build sheet laminated (dash one, as the tank one was already gone) and adhered it with double sided foam adhesive. I also laminated a '70 Registry biz card and signed & dated the tank for good measure. The original build sheet is in acid free paper storage in a safe. ~Juliet
