Roland - not likely. The 852 block was used in '58-'63 passenger cars, '58-'67 trucks, and '64-'67 Chevelle and passenger cars (all 283's). DJ is the right code, but it's on the wrong block, which was never used in a Corvette. Looks like it could be a re-stamp.

I believe it is C70. It's very hard to read. I'm not 100% positive on the last digit. Regardless, I haven't found any documentation that would suggest the 3849852 was ever used in a corvette. Am I correct?

The C 7 0 would be March 7, 1960; if the "0" is correct, that would place the casting as beyond the production year of your car. In any event, none of my references indicate that your block was ever used in anything other than passenger cars and trucks.
