Aluminum heads

Looking for some help in identifing aluminum heads.
The first one is casting # 4919842 with a casting date of 6/67.
The second one is casting # 3919842 with no casting date and it does not have the core holes tapped and pluged on each end of the head. The second one also has 111412 cast on it.

GM casting #3919842 is an aluminum big block cylinder head used for 1968 and 1969 applications. For Corvettes, it was used for 68 L-88 and L-89 applications as well as 1969 L-89, but it was also used for other GM car model special high performance big blocks. It is a rectangular port, closed chamber cylinder head. Most versions of the heads have the holes in both ends which are drilled and tapped for pipe plugs. In later 1969, one of the holes was eliminated. I know of no version that has no drilled and tapped holes on either end.

"4919842" was never a casting number used on any Chevrolet cylinder head. If that's actually the number on the head, then it's an anomaly of some sort.

It's possible that the 3919842 head that you have with no holes on either end is a much later SERVICE casting. I don't know that to be the case, but it's a possibility.
