The WB AM radio I pulled from my '63 did not have a trim bezel for the opening in the console. The fit of the radio face in the console is pretty tight, leading me to believe that this may be another example of early '63's being different. Did all '63's have this trim bezel? Thanks.

Re: Radio Bezel
If memory serves, this was a running change with early '63 cars having no bezel around the center console opening for the radio and it being added later. Yep, it's clearly called out in your copy of the '63-64 Technical Information Manual and Judging Guide:
Interior, Sect 6 Instruments, Radio
"Early 1963 Corvettes to approximately VIN 12000 were 'AM only,' Wonder Bars. Up to about VIN number 7000, there was no radio surround bezel...."- Top

Re: Radio Bezel
Reading this post answered a question I had last year when I replaced my dash surrond in my late 63 (May build). I got an old 63 dash surroud to replace my damaged one. When I tried to install the radio bezel it would not fit in the opening. I had to file down the area to make the opening bigger. The replacement part I got must have been from an early 63. I also noticed that the defroster duct has a brace fastened to the top of the surround near the radio speaker grill. The replacement surround didn't have a hole to mount this brace through. I had to drill a new hole.- Top
