My radiator core support on 77 is crumbling away. Can a person with reasonable mechanic skills replace one without many problems.?

Re: C3 Core support
It will take some time and if you have air it will be harder. Fan,radiator ,shroud will all need to be removed. A repair manual will help and use radiator removal section to get started. The core support will be easy after the radiator is out.Lyle

Yes, you can. It's really not all that difficult, at all. Remove the radiator, first, of course, and the fan and fan clutch assembly. Then, remove the core support. The most difficult part will be struggling with the fan shroud. However, in that you're removing the support, this will actually make removing the fan shroud easier. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: C3 Core support
Lets try this again. Follow what the others have said regarding removal of the fan, shroud and radiator. On mine, the two bottom bolts that attach the support to the frame were rusted and broke off when I tried to remove them. I was able to remove the three side bolts without removing the front tires. Just jacked the front up a little to allow access to them.- Top
