When I bought my 72, the foam tunnel collar was missing. I've got one to put on it now, but where does it glue onto the bellhousing at? I checked my assembly manual and I couldn't find anything on it. I have the body off the frame so I decided it would be a good time to install it, or is it better done after the body is back on?
Thanks for any help.
Scott
The collar goes on the bell housing just aft of the clutch fork boot. I put mine on when I had the transmission out, but you should be able to install it with the body on and trans installed.
Mine is an automatic, but I think I get the idea. It glues on after the bellhousing and I am also assuming that it will fit in front of the foil tunnel insulation and not between the foil and the transmission.
Thanks again
Scott
The piece of foam was glued to the turbo 400 automatic on my 70. Mine come unglued and was lost going down the interstate. I can see the glue residue on my transmission and the placement is before the tunnel foil insulation. Where did you purchase a replacement piece?
