Dave + Patrick If our rulers and eyes are running true I got 3/16 and that would make 1/32 difference. On the 73-77 judging sheets the frame and the two screws are two points originality two on condition. It looks to me like a deduction on flight judging would be hard for me to take if the screws are ok. Do the rivets size make the line items 50% wrong?

Bowtie anything but the ones that came with the Corvette would be a no.

I have a set of what I thought (but am now wondering) are original plate frames from my '70. The inside clips aren't in the best of shape (corrosion) and I can find no evidence of any numbers on them. Where and how are the numbers oriented? How pronounced are the numbers on the clips? (Anyone got a picture? - I've got webspace for it.) The rivets on the outside of mine measure 7/32" (I used calipers). What is the shape of the clips? Mine look like the picture you posted - same shape on the clips. I measured the rivet head at 0.230, just a smidgen larger than yours. No big deal. I can't see any numbers either, but mine are a little more corroded than yours. I'm sure mine came with the car in 1970.

Juliet my original owner 70's license plate stainless trim looks just like yours. I use Brasso to shine it up every few years.
