No heat shields on my 69 400 automatic. I assume you're referring to the "tube" like shields. Chuck

Exactly. I have seen them on ebay but I can't find any reference to them anywhere. I guess they must have shown up in later years.

I have never seen them on an original 1968 or 69. They show up on later 1971 and regularly on 1972s. Be careful though there is a later style barrel shield that has "butterfly wings" on it that, I believe comes from truck applications. The 1971 & 72 style was a barrel shape with only a tab for the attachment.
