    Correct Restoration?

I am the original owner of a 76 coupe (built in Feb). The right hand Splash Shield came from the factory with the same rubber seal used for the Upper Skirt Seals. It has a "bullnose" edge rather than a flat edge like the left Splash Shield. I believe that this is an incorrect seal for this part. My car also never came with Adjustable Rubber Bumpers near the hood latches.

Which is the correct restoration? The way it came from the factory or the way it was suppose to be built???

Larry, I am no whiz on late models, but since you are the origional owner and know your car came as described, I would leave is that way. The reasoning being that NCRS tells us "the way the factory did it". Therefor , what the factory did can't be wrong. We have all seen enough cars to know that GM may have intended to build them all alike, but didn't! This just adds "charector" to your car. The only exception i would make to this is any "safety Related" items. During judging, be prepared to show documentation why you restored an item differently than the judging manual says. Even if the judges don't agree with what you have done, and deduct a few points, you will know the point in question is correct. The cars wre not all identical! Bill
