C-3 68 Brake Caliper cast Numbers

The part numbers on my calibers in the rear read 5452284 on one side and 5452281 on the other. The third # could be a 8 rather than a 5. Are these correct for the rear?

The front drivers side is SSBC DB1081D on one side and 473788 with 2363 under it while the Front passenger side is SSBC DB1081C on both sides.

Are the fronts replacement stainless steel sleved and not correct for an early 68? What is the correct #?

    Thanks, John

John - here are the correct casting numbers for the 67-72 time frame, I got these from Joe Lucia when I went through the calipers for my 67:
    lf outer---5452273
    lf inner---5452270
    rf outer---5452273
    rf inner---5452270
    lr outer---5452284
    lr inner---5452281
    rr outer---5452284
    rr inner---5452281

Remember, you can't just find two of each casting number, the casting numbers were the same, but the machining operations were different so you need the LH and RH versions of each casting number with respect to the drilling for the lines and bleeders....Craig

John - I forgot to mention, SSBC stands for Stainless Steel Brake Corp, and they cast their own calipers. The GM units ALWAYS have Delco Morraine with the Delco logo...Craig

            John-----

You only need new front calipers if you want the calipers to be exactly "correct". The SSBC calipers are VERY high quality units and may even be superior to the originals. Certainly, they are as good.

If I can find some correct front cores, I would prefer to go that way, otherwise I will use the SSBC fronts for now. Thanks for the help.
